Problems viewing the images on GraffitiJunction?

There are dozens of reasons why you might not enjoy our picture gallery. In short, these will stop you:

1. Your computer is slow

Old PCs take too long to display Internet pages with lots of graphics, images, photos, videos, etc. Or worse, you PC is not old, but damaged, having been attacked by the neighbourhood helpdesk in a vain attempt to ‘speed it up’ or, more often, your very own high-school kids using it in your absence, taking it to dangerous corners of the web.

Websites attack computers, even well-known and reputable ones, running all sorts of scripts and plugins they demand are necessary to view pages – more likely advertisements – on their sites. Complicating this, the most popular form of attack by cyber-criminals is hacking other’s websites and planting hidden code that installs malicious software on your PC when you visit that page.

2. Your Internet is slow

GraffitiJunction serves LARGE images. If you are on dial-up Internet, "there will" – as RoboCop said – "be trouble."  If your Internet is 256 kb/s even that will struggle a little, especially with our panoramas that occasionally reach 10MBytes in size.

3. Your web browser is old/damaged/stupid

What’s a "web browser" you ask?  You, my friend, are due for a refresher course at the local college on the basics of using a computer, covering all those lessons you slept through from pre-school to K12.

Just because your PC worked OK until you visited GraffitiJunction does NOT mean we attacked you, broke your PC, or are the only website on the Internet that won’t display properly on your PC. I can understand you feeling that way, so I wrote this page.  We run a clean web site. Sure, we can be attacked at any time, and if you think a page on this site is behaving badly, email gjman at this domain. For that ring of confidence, have a looksee here.

GraffitiJunction.com is tested regularly in leading web browsers. Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, Opera. But only the latest versions.

In particular, GraffitiJunction is NOT tested in Internet Explorer 6. Nobody wastes their time making websites work in IE6. Life’s too short.

Why only the latest web browsers? Anything older is vulnerable to the evil cyber crooks referred to above.

4. Your web browser has too many plugins

Too many plugins? They’re those rows of icons and fiddly bits appearing at the top of this window near the space that shows the website address you’re visiting. Someone has said yes to too many offers: "Do you wish to install the <our fabulous company name here> toolbar? Of course you do. Click here and it will download and install in seconds."

Too many of these eventually makes your PC so busy it forgets to actually display the web page. And if it succeeds, you can’t see it because your screen is full of toolbars.

5. Your web browser needs the latest version of ..

Well, it probably does. The main player is Adobe’s Flash Player. Always update it when prompted. Both for security reasons and so it will play the latest & greatest website content.

Why do you need Flash Player. Well, if only because YouTube serves all its movies in Flash. Enough said?

As with ALL plugins/players/updates, make sure you only ever – ever – download/install from a genuine website. For example, never download/install from a website whose address is http://microsoft.com.shittinonyou.ru – that’s just not right! You can, of course, (nearly always) trust http://microsoft.com

Can you spot the difference? Can you imagine – just by everyday common sense – why the first website might be just ever so slightly on the nose??

Don’t muck about. Go now to Adobe and update to the latest secure and all-singin’ Flash Player. Just because you should. And just because you can.

Take your time. That link opens in a new window and sometimes the download dialogs (little windows that ask questions or tell  you what’s the deal) take up to a minute. Don’t click madly, just wait.
