Former NSW State Rail training building
The former NSW State Rail training centre fell to disuse. It was an attractive period building with the air of former times. I assumed it a heritage piece so its obliteration was a shock.
Artwork from 2004 is an eclectic, delightful, fun show of youthful good nature, the like of which is missing in recent years.

A fine demonstration of freshness in “unsophisticated” art and mischievous captioning.
The 2004 effort was quality venue, with a 25 metre artwork. Trees and footpath ornamentation made for a problem shoot, as the panorama shows. Camera limitations meant low-resolution images.
The building is now demolished and a failed re-dev. You might appreciate the enhancement of street atmosphere offered by a muddy weed-infested security-fenced car park.
The rent-a-fence was briefly adorned by a muralesque work to hide it galvanised delicacy, but the entire site is now a desolate ruin.
Another Palais story.
